Department of Motor Vehicle’s Online Community Guidelines
Welcome to the California Department of Motor Vehicles’ online community guidelines. The purpose of these guidelines is to provide guidance concerning the department’s methods of presenting matters of public interest, including DMV news, events, and the work that we do at DMV through social media. DMV encourages customers to use the comment section to post inquiries, comments and concerns to improve customer service for all DMV customers.
Please be advised that any information posted on any of our moderated social media web pages are open to the public and are subject to content monitoring for prompt response or deletion. Any content that contains profanity, vulgarity, defamation, promotes products or services, off-topic comments, personal attacks, or unsupported accusations will be deleted. Do not post any personal and confidential information such as: date of birth, address, marital status, driver license/identification card number, vehicle identification number and license plate number.
